What to visit in the area

Parma: a city rich in history and culture

Its center, full of artistic masterpieces, spacious green areas, small and large treasures of different eras, welcomes visitors and citizens in a refined atmosphere from small capital. The presence of music in the history of the city is varied and richly known, as well as being famous for Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini, The vivacity of initiative and the collective passion give it a prominent place among the music capitals. Do not underestimate its gastronomic tradition which offers, in addition to meats and cheeses famous all over the world, also excellent pasta dishes. In fact, Parma was named in the 2015 Creative City of Gastronomy Unesco.

Gastronomy and tradition

Great protagonist of the Parmesan cuisine is definitely the pork from which is obtained among all the Prosciutto di Parma DOP, but delicious are all the products of the territory: Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, the Culatello di Zibello DOP, the Salame Felino IGP, the Shoulder Cotta di San Secondo and the delicious Porcini Mushroom IGP. The city and the surrounding area

To better enjoy this land is a must stop at one or more Museums of food, that of cheese in Soragna, ham in Langhirano or salami in Felino.
